A. Najważniejsze zasady
- The Nail Biter pomaga zauważać i ograniczać obgryzanie paznokci.
Szczegóły i Twoje prawa opisuje Polityka prywatności.

Terms of Use
Effective from: .
A. Key points
- The Nail Biter helps you notice and reduce nail biting. It is not a medical device and does not replace advice from a doctor or psychologist.
- The camera image is analyzed only locally, in your browser. It is not recorded, saved or sent to any server.
- When it starts, the browser downloads the MediaPipe library (cdn.jsdelivr.net) and the recognition models (storage.googleapis.com). These services see standard connection data (e.g. your IP address), as with any website.
- Without signing in, settings, statistics and acceptance of the terms are saved in the browser’s memory (localStorage) on your device and are not sent anywhere. When you are signed in, your app settings may also be saved on your account so they are the same on your devices. We send statistics to the server only if you yourself switch on “Save stats to your account”; you can switch it off at any time, and we then delete them from the server. We keep the rest (for example the window layout and acceptance of the terms) on your device only. You can delete data on the device with the “Clear data” button in the settings; data stored on your account stays until you switch off saving statistics or delete your account.
- Detection can make mistakes: false alarms and missed episodes happen. The app is provided “as is”, without any warranty.
- Using the app is voluntary. You can stop the camera at any time with the Stop button.
- Optional diagnostic recordings (the Advanced section) contain only coordinates of face and hand points, no image, and are saved as a file on your device only at your request.
- An account is optional. After you sign in with Google, we store your email address and Google account identifier on our server, and the session in a cookie. We also store your app settings on the account (when this feature is on) and, only with your consent, your statistics. The Privacy Policy describes the details and your rights. You can delete your account at any time in the “Account” window; this also deletes the settings and statistics stored on it.
B. Supplementary provisions
- Provider. The Nail Biter (https://the-nail-biter.com) is run by Rafał Maksim, contact: rafal.maksim@gmail.com.
- Service. The service provides, free of charge, a browser app that uses the camera to detect fingers near the mouth and warns you about it. The agreement to use the service is concluded when you accept the terms in the app and lasts until you stop using the service or delete your account.
- Technical requirements. An up-to-date browser (such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) with JavaScript and WebAssembly, a camera, and an internet connection at start. The floating window requires a browser that supports Document Picture-in-Picture.
- Account. An account is optional and is created by signing in with Google. You can delete it at any time with the “Delete account” button. Data processing is described in the Privacy Policy (https://the-nail-biter.com/privacy.html).
- Pro version. If a paid Pro version is offered, it will be sold by a payment provider under its own terms, and these terms will first be extended with rules on payments, withdrawal and refunds.
- Acceptable use. You must not use the service unlawfully, disrupt its operation or attempt to access other people's accounts.
- Liability. The service is provided “as is”. Detection can be wrong. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage resulting from relying on detection results. This does not limit consumer rights under mandatory law.
- Complaints. Send comments and complaints about the service to rafal.maksim@gmail.com. We will reply within 14 days.
- Changes. We may change these terms for valid reasons (such as changes in law or new features). We will announce changes in the app, and continued use requires accepting the new version.
- Law. Polish law applies. Consumers keep the protection of the law of the country of their habitual residence and may use the court competent under general rules. The Polish version is binding.
